Michael McDermott is a 61 year-old candidate running for New York State Governor. His home city is Huntington Station of New York. He is a Libertarian, one who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state. Although he is divorced, he continues to provide his four children with care and love. In fact, as a father of four daughters (Danielle, Alicyn, Heather, and Gracie), he strongly supports many positive health and education programs.
McDermott graduated from Ward Melville High School in Setauket, New York. He attended several colleges including NY Suffolk County Community College, Island Drafting School T. Harv Ecker's Train the Trainer I & II, and Long Island Real Estate School.
As an active member of the Hauppauge School Board, he became a candidate and was elected for president of the board through his three year term. Succeeding the obtainment of a Real Estates Brokers License, he worked as a real estates broker and developer from 2001 to 2008. McDermott was a 2012 candidate for the 3rd Congressional District of New York in the U.S. House of Representative. Despite the fact he did not win, he continues to work his best to help enforce laws and to improve the lives of the people.
