Group 3: Origins
1. In approximately what year and place did this belief system originate?
Judaism is a religious tradition with origins dating back nearly four thousand years, rooted in the ancient near eastern region of Canaan (which is now Israel and Palestinian territories). Originating as the beliefs and practices of the people known as "Israel," classical, or rabbinic, Judaism did not emerge until the 1st century C.E.
2. Who is the founder and how did the belief system originate? If there is no founder how did the belief system come about? Explain.
The founder of Judaism is Abraham, it originate for 2000 years as a nation without a national homeland is not normal. It’s unique in human history.
3. Explain who is the supreme being(s) (if there is one)*
Adonai or Hashem is the only supreme of the Judaism of one god of the belief system.
4. Are there any religious leaders or leaders in general of the belief system? (Explain priests, shamans) Explain their role, whether it be from the past or present?
There was a religious leader called Rabbis, that is part of to oversee the many rituals from the past.
5. What is the symbol of the belief system? Explain why this symbol is used to represent the belief system?
The symbol are the six pointed stars are known as Star of David, it represent of the Israel and the flag of Jewish.
6. How did this belief system spread to other regions? If the belief system did not spread to other regions explain. Why?
Judaism has spread and will spread is that since there is a lot of Judaism around the world already all of their children will most likely become Jewish as well. The inventor of Christianity, the Roman Empire, just needed a base on which to build her version of religion for political gains.

The main branches of Judaism are Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox. The reason why Judaism divide in to branches is because Reform & Conservative branches do not meet Torah obligations. Orthodox Judaism is required to do 613 commandments.
2. Briefly explain each branch, division, or sect including the major beliefs, values, important beings, founders, dates, and a place of origin?
The major beliefs are that there is that there is only one gorthodox beliefs in oral and writing Torah. Torah is a religious Jewish book. Reforms do not observe in the oral and the writing Torah. Conservatives only observe the writing Torah. The 3 fathers of Judaism are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Judaism is founded 3500 years old. Judaism was started in the Middle East.

The branches are different from the original belief system is by religious are split in to 3 branches: Orthodox, Conservative and Reform. Orthodox Jews follows the ancient laws that are founded in the Torah. Conservative Judaism serves as a compromise between Orthodox and Reform Judaism. Reform Judaism, sometimes called liberal, or progressive Judaism emphasizes the importance of individual choice over ritual practices and religious beliefs.

The ways that the branches of Judaism are similar is by having one Torah, one belief and one religion. All of the branches of Judaism believe in only one gd and have a place to worship called a synagogue. All of the branches have a Rabbi. A Rabbi is a Jewish scholar or teacher, especially one who studies or teaches Jewish laws.

By making a time line of at least 3 important events of Judaism is that Reform Judaism originated in the early 19th century in Germany. Conservative Judaism originated in Germany in the mid-19th century. Orthodox originated in the year of 1948.
6. Could the divide in the belief system have been avoided? Why or why not? Use specific pieces of evidence from the credible sources to support your answer.
No I do not think that the divide of Judaism could have been avoided is because different Jews have a different point of views on the religion that they would like to observe. Some Jews want to keep the religion strictly and some don't. So I just feel like you should do whatever makes you feel happy. That is why there are different branches of Judaism.
