Islamic Beliefs

Islam is the religion of Muslims that is monotheistic. Some beliefs they had included the belief in the Quran, one God, and Angels. Muslims also believe in the afterlife which is that after death there is a day called judgement day where their good deeds and bad deeds are questioned by Allah, their God, and they are either sent to Jannah which is their heaven or Jahannam which is their hell. The values of this belief system includes the five pillars of Islam. They are Shahadah which is a declaration of faith, Zakat which is charity; helping the poor and needy, Hajj.islamic pilgrimage, Salat which is to pray five times a day, and Sawm which is fasting during Ramadan. To be a Muslim and a follower of Islam these five pillars must be completed. The place of worship in Islam is called a mosque or a masjid. “the words of Allah (God) revealed to the prophet Muhammad in the 7th century, are everywhere in the prayer hall, often in flowing Arabic script. The hall may also be decorated with intricate patterns running the length of the walls, pillars, ceilings and floors.” as described on the web article “What’s Inside A Mosque?”. There are many important places that have a mosque that is considered holy and important to Islam. The most important places in Islam are in Mecca; their holy mosque called Masjid al Haram which contains the Kabah where Muslims face when they pray, Medina; Masjid al Nawabi, and in the old city of Jerusalem; Masjid al Aqsa. Islam is different from most religions in the sense that they do not have a central administration like how Catholicism is organized by the Pope for example. All Islamic issues are usually answered by the Quran. Therefore, Islam is a religion based on simple concepts and that there is only one God and his prophets.
